For the third weekend in a row Mother Nature has blanketed us in white. It was beautiful this morning.

Morning run. The weather app said 14* so I dressed for that half way through I was peeling layers off. I think it was more like 30-35* Bill Rodgers race was cancelled so I ran in the hood instead. Was fun, but challenging running in the snow still on the roads somewhat like running in sand. Beautiful morning for a run.

Yesterday morning I was running on these roads in light flurries wondering if it wasn't getting blown out of proportion..what a difference a day makes. My running path is impassable today.

The first car is completely buried. I lucked out my car didn't have any snow on top of it because of the wind and drifting.

Heidi, can't you just drive that truck out of there? I'm always amazed at how people baby their 4WD. There was a Jeep beside mine and I would have just driven it out let the plow deal with the rest.

They said epic, ugh I hate that word. But there is a lot of snow out there.

The storm is settling in, wine, soup, and brownies watching the snow fall. The snow is falling fast. I love watching snow when I don't have to drive in it. Or be inconvenienced by it. So relaxing.

What is it about winter storm that makes me want to bake?? Maybe it's the comfort.

I stand corrected..

The weather has turned...

Governor Deval Patrick initiated a travel ban, at first for 2 pm, but most recently 4 pm. When I left work it was much worse than it looked. In the front parking lot it looked pretty mild. In the rear parking lot, however, I found about an inch of snow on my car. And driving was pretty treacherous at times. Stopping and starting up a hill, for example leaving work turning onto 27 my wee car was not happy. Route 27 to 111 was not much fun either, oh the joys of not having control of your vehicle.

the guy at the package store was chastising me for driving in such conditions. I explained I was on my way home from work, and uh hem aren't you at work??? Then he went into the statistics of accidents close to home...ok already...I'm leaving...

Other news..Marshfield has been asked to voluntarily evacuate and it's actually a crime to drive right now...hmmm...

Winter Storm

So far it's not looking like much. A lot of flurries, little accumulation, but it is cold. A few flurries were flying during this mornings run, but were done by the end of my run. I am always amazed at the still quietness of running in the winter.

So they say a blizzard is heading this way.

The forecasters are predicting a historical blizzard comparable to the Blizzard of 1978. Although I didn't live here in '78 I do remember my sister talking about it. So we'll see what Mother Nature delivers...
